Is it just me, or does The Great Exchange sound like a lost Radiohead song?

I still love Deja. I dunno if I will start to feel differently at some point but I have been loving it since it was released, so I should be good for a while. I also find Devil and God insanely overrated but it's still a pre good album.
There's a handful of good songs on the first Brand New album: Shower Scene, Jude Law, No Seatbelt Song, 70x7.
Man, I thought North Corridor was great. The only disappointing Chevelle album for me was Hats Off to the Bull.

See Hats Off is my second or third fav. Such an underrated album.

Dare I say... Your Favorite Weapon is a monstrous piece of shit. There are some lyrical gems on the record but that's about the only nice thing I can say about it.
Also, these guys are total Radiohead fans so that doesn't surprise me.

I love Hats Off haha

Yeah, your favorite weapon is just a weird album for them. It still has those songs I like to go back to, but I don't really care for anything else on it. Seventy times seven has a bunch of great lines in it.
Face to the Floor and T/t are the only songs of Hats Off that I thoroughly enjoy. Everything else I can do without.

Thank you! Hats Off is great. Sci fi and that are prob my favs. Incredibly melodic. Gargola has gotta be Third, with WWN in fourth.
Bottom three are Point #1, North Corridor and Vena Sera.

Wow man those are actually the two songs I like least on it haha. Love Ruse, The Meddler, Piñata, Envy, Arise, Clones, Glimpse of the Con (on the Best Buy edition).

Lol, I love North Corridor, then Vena, Wonder, La Gargola.
Then Sci Fi and Thinking.
And last Hats. Actually haven't heard Point 1. I kind of always forget it exists, ha.
Also, Thrice is great. Do they consider Radiohead an influence or just fans? That's one of those bands I just never got the appeal of.

Yeah Point 1 has a few good songs, but it’s pretty forgettable overall.
I know Dustin loves Radiohead and I believe they are somewhat of an influence. Xingking will correct me if I’m wrong though.
I’m a Radiohead fan. Maybe not as big as some but they’re great imo.

Some of the new stuff definitely has a Radiohead feel, particularly My Soul. I definitely recommend dropping some acid and listening to Kid A lol

Thinking is Chevy's best record.
This is Thrice's best.

God, The Weight is so good. Both in sound and content. Wish I had written it for my wife lol.

It's one of my favorites too.

Thinking was my favorite Chevelle at one point. Then I realized the awesomeness of Sci fi, then Hats and Gargola came out. Now it’s in the middle.
Sci fi Crimes/Hats Off
La Gargola
Wonder What’s Next
This Type of Thinking
Vena Sera
North Corridor
Point 1
We’ll see where 12 Bloody Spies fits in, but the four songs I’ve heard are awesome (particularly Glimpse of the Con and Leto’s Headache.
Of the Thrice albums I’ve heard (still in progress and M/M is next — and I’m listing each Alchemy EP separately)
Vheissu
Beggars (these top two are very close though)
Water
Fire (Firebreather is def one of their best songs imo)
Air
Artist in the Ambulance
The Illusion of Safety (only listened to it twice and it’s still growing on me)

Yeah Ecnalzen I just love the passion and conviction you hear in his voice. It’s so authentic, moving and inspiring.
Dustin’s singing in general is just a stand out in Beggars. In most of the songs, you just feel the meaning and passion behind the lyrics.

When you get to M/m, I wonder if you will enjoy Promises as much as I do. I have always felt like it was almost like a sequel to the Weight, lyrically and musically.

Sounds like something I’d like. You know I’ll chime in with my thoughts on MM after I listen. From what I’ve heard, I have a feeling it’ll be one of my favorite Thrice albums.

Is the thematic content/subject matter similar to The Weight?

A little bit. Here is the opening verse:
Oh, we promise pretty things and we pledge with diamond rings; we profess undying love
But does that word hold any weight, when we reserve the right to break any vow that draws our blood?
