Riffage and melody are perfectly blended here, agreed.

Dreamer Deceiver is like Priest's Planet Caravan. I get exactly the same vibes from both songs.

Yeah, destroy is a strong word.

I do prefer Priest to Maiden, but I've grown to recognize Maiden's merits over time more and more. I mean, not many bands have such songs in their catalog:

-Hallowed Be Thy Name
-Rime of the Ancient Mariner
-Powerslave
-The Evil That Men Do
-Flight of Icarus
-Phantom of the Opera
-Murders in the Rue Morgue
-Etc.

Seriously though, Priest's best albums are better, but Maiden is much better in terms of consistency and overall quality.

I have to add that both bands delivered their share of innovation.

I dunno, Maiden sometimes fell short in the song writing department for me, even on some of their 80's albums (obviously not on the best songs on those albums though).
