My intro to SoaD was watching MTV late at night, and they were doing a hard rock video hour. I remember very specifically it was the first time I had heard "Sugar", Static-X's "Push It", and Chevelle's "Point #1". I'm guessing it was in 1999. All that music just clicked with me at the time. They were really pushing PM5K and Orgy on the radio, but not these bands.

I wish I could remember what that special was called... it wasn't Headbangers Ball; that was off the air by then.

I bought this CD with the bonus four-track disc while I was on vacation at the beach, probably in 2000.

nice, i missed the mtv days because my parents were anti-TV and we never had cable.

growing up in a small town honestly the only place i had to buy music was walmart, and i bought the edited version of this CD because 10 year old me thought the cover art was cool lmao. they then quickly became my favorite band until mesmerize dropped, which i was supremely disappointed in.

this album will always be my favorite though.

I think it was this Return of the Rock show, hosted by Lars Ulrich

"lol like are you just posting factoids about the show or what?"

You mentioned Headbangers Ball; I pointed out (again) that a SoaD video would not have been on HB because it was cancelled in the US in 1995 and Europe later in 1997. Sorry if I am being confusing :/

Watching Lars video is nostalgic as hell. Talking about this "nu" metal LA scene with Coal Chamber, Spineshank, and Static-X.

Really wish SOAD would go back to the days of this and Toxicity, but I doubt they ever will again
