"Periphery? More like Peri-bore-y. These progressive metalheads need to progress right on out of the music industry."
This one is the best because this is absolutely a comment someone's said word for word on Sput.

"But don't worry, it's not all just mindless shredding - you've got The Dear Hunter to balance things out. Because nothing says "I'm a serious music fan" like a band that tries so hard to be theatrical and concept-driven that they forgot to write any good songs."
lmao this is my favorite band and a nice1

Genuinely if anyone can meet in the middle of being theatrical/conceptual and writing a really good fucking song it's Casey/TDH.
Bot good for a guffaw tho.

TDH is cool, I kind of prefer TREoS myself but I like what I've heard.

ehh, Between the Heart and the Synapse is pretty dope, it has some bangers and I have nostalgia for it, but TDH is better by p much every single metric.

ye or just stylistic preference aka you being wrong.
they're pretty dissimilar other than Casey being half of the vocalists on one TREOS album.
Just listen to every act in order and if you don't transcend to a knew plane of aural consciousness there's no hope for you.

Lol, I just had a conversation with an Avenged "megafan" who said they hated this album and wished they went back to making heavy metal again. Guess Game Over is soft pop then.
I feel like a lot of their fanbase are writing this off solely for being "experimental" and weird. But these are the same people who know every single word to A Little Piece of Heaven so hey-ho!

I've heard 4 and 5 and they were good but it wasn't really transcending for me.

From what I've seen that you enjoy you'd probably like Act 2 more, but 4/5 are absolute masterpieces.

This album seems to get better with every listen. The only song that hasn't fully clicked with me is Nobody, but I'm slowly coming round to it. I wouldn't be shocked if I bumped this to a 5 at some point, I'm genuinely obsessed.

I cant imagine another version of Shadows singing that would fit Nobody better. He nailed it perfectly.

He sounds great on Cosmic and (D)eath! I don't think he needs to be the smoothest vocalist, his voice is iconic and gives the music character.
