I gave it a 4 at first because of peer pressure but had to admit I don't care much for this at all

I gave it a 2/5 because that's how much I enjoyed it. i.e. not very much. Revolutionary.

It’s fine.. people who call this scary should check out the villains from Care Bears.. terrifying stuff..

i can only think of a few albums that genuinely sound "scary" like where i get a sense of being actually scared when listening

this is unsettling but not that

I don't really find this scary tbh, only the first track is quite unsettling. I mostly just like how catchy this is

I wouldn't call it scary either, unsettling is a good word for it. I'd almost call this a thriller movie in album form. This thrives off constantly keeping the listener at the edge of their seat waiting for a shocking twist or turn. I would say it could definitely be anxiety inducing to someone who hadn't heard anything of this nature before.

What I find so successful about this is that Daughters were able to do so without ever being a cheap novelty and actually creating truly memorable moments that stick after the listen is over.

one of my favorite parts of the album is in the flammable man. you have all that noise for 30 seconds or so, and then it cuts out around 1:30 to near total silence. then IS SOMETHING BURNING HERE OR IS IT ME with that circus riff bursting in on the word “burning”

plenty of memorable stuff on this album, not even mentioning alexis' many lyrics that burn into your memory within a few listens.

THIS WORLD IS OPENING UP, UP, UUUPPPPP

even after so many listens, this album still feels as fresh as when I first jammed it, and I'm still just as giddy and stoked on it with each subsequent listen
