I don’t know, always felt like At-the-Heart-of-Winter-lite I guess, which still rules, but it’s just missing that extra something special for me. Who knows, maybe I’ll come back in another year and kick myself, but I still don’t see it.

Nahhhh bro I don't think this sounds anything like ATHOW tbh. That album is way more thrashy and riff oriented. This one is riff oriented too to an extent but its all about dat icy atmosphere.

Just realized this came before ATHOW too, for whatever reason though I kinda put Immortal and these guys in a similar category and Dissection comes off second-best.

Also I’m considering bumping this to a 4.5, it’s probably a 4.3 for me and I tend to round up on the higher end if that’s the case. I’ll see after I finish this current spin.
