Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't he legitimately record most of the album by capturing sounds such as chair creeks (wood), pin drops, paper folding, springs in chairs, etc but slowed down like an unrealistic percentage value?

okay this is very fucking cool. that chair sound is even more terrifying here than on record
and so I guess yes re. your comment, I guess similar to Foley Room except that album had more fielding recordings and you could place most sounds in their original context more easily
