definitely feels more accessible than the first two. The beat on Cold Earth is more satisfying than anything on those two for me

7 and a half years since this came out. Jesus

I think the melodies here are more haunting, timeless, and eerily nostalgic than their other LPs... but the songs are less detailed and less interesting

I am very glad this exists (and the vinyl sounds exquisite), but it's hard to rank it anywhere better than 3rd in their discog

i think this is less accessible by the fact alone that it's more ambient and there's a lot less stuff going on, but i guess if you're not used to samples being used in the way they're used in geogaddi / mhtrtc, then you could say they're less accessible idk

It sounds like it’s using different voicings of the same chords a lot of the time, and there’s a lack of resolution in the chord progressions (all normal for ambient music) but the way it’s layered with the percussion and those little arpeggiated melodies is satisfying to me and stands out in a way the first two albums didn’t. They felt a bit “uglier” and more disjointed to me

This would be the perfect score to some kind of really good sci-fi post apocalypse movie or video game. For some reason I get Halo 3 vibes listening to this.
