From Ive gathered they actually write their music around the lyrics, so his visceral theatricality makes sense.

Yeh, that's why I love the band.. each riff change or change in direction or added ambience or vocal change is like a new part of the story.

Yeah, I love following the lyrics booklets along to the music with these guys. Pretty much the only band I've ever bothered doing that for but damn it adds a lot to their already winning formula.

''From Ive gathered they actually write their music around the lyrics, so his visceral theatricality makes sense.''

Even the EP lengths have a hidden reference, like if you add the length of Diabolus Absconditus, Mass Grave Aesthetics and Chaining the Katechon you get 1:03:22. Then you have the bible, book 1, chapter 3, verse 22. This gives you: ''And the LORD God said, ‘The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever.''

Read this somewhere a while ago.

Damn whoever figured that out has some serious free time. Really cool if true though!

I feel like that kind of coincidence is very common to achieve with the bible.

I've had weird heart episodes two times and both were when I fell asleep to this album. I'm not sure its a coincidence and it hasn't happened since and I haven't listened to this album

Album can be intense lol. My mate was unfit in PE class and his heart rate went up to like 215bpm once... he needed to lay off the pies

When I had their trilogy on CD, one of them would always stick out of my shelf a little bit. It happened randomly every time too, and the only CDs that have ever just done that for no apparent fucking reason have been Deathspell albums or Close To A World Below. It got to the point where I finally offloaded Si Monvmentvm onto a friend of mine who wanted a copy of it anyway.

Yeah I like how convincing he is. I appreciate bands that suck you into their world. Like you can tell they aren't just fucking around. You actually believe that he believes what he's screaming 100%. Apparently this bands ideology (not sure if this has to do with satanism or what) is to go to the extremes in everything you do. The lyrics for one of their songs is something like ''any man not going to the extremes is a servant'' or something like that. Can't remember the song title though.

Yeah they got some really interesting ideologies that's for sure. They're one of the few bands I can think of whose messages and ideas actually carry enough depth to be worth studying. It's awesome.

From what I understand they don't believe in anything really. Their music takes a metaphysical approach to the relationships between various heavenly beings and mankind. It's pretty enigmatic.
