i watched an interview with kanye - its truly painful. he couldn't just answer. instead he had to pick and choose every little word to make sure he got all the attention he thought he deserved.

what an uncomfotable life to live.

Mmmhmm, this is more about the producers than Kanye. The moments on this album rule so hard though.

and the lyrics are pretty horrific to be honest. The only reason this isn't a 4 for me.

Because Kanye was the exec. producer on the album and always has a hand in creating the beats on any and all of his tracks.

He seemed to use a lot more guest producers on this album than he does on the others, though I haven't checked the numbers so I might be wrong.

Ahh, see I didn't know he was the exec. producer. I just don't get why he hasn't done anything like this until now though?

It's called changing your style! Kanye has actually made significant shifts in his sound with every album. Late Registration was hugely stuffed with strings and chipmunk'd soul samples, Graduation had more of an electro-pop vibe, and 808s & Heartbreak was...well, 808s & Heartbreak. This is just another shift - although, to me, it sounds like an amalgam of everything he's already done, with some new elements added in.

Yeah I knew he changed styles often, but his other albums felt like there was more missing to it. This one just sounds complete, like what he has been trying to accomplish for years.

It's amazing what being branded a cancer to society will do to one's sense of artistic importance.

Might I add that I believe Kanye's sense of self-importance is part of what allows him to be as good a producer/musician as he is; he has brash confidence in his own abilities.

If that is supposed to be a ranking of the tracks on this album, you fail for putting my favorite song last.
