I think LaBrie blows on every DT record. His solo efforts are a different story though - particularly Elements of Persuasion.

Dam Kj its like I don't even know you anymore

I used to be a huge advocate of Labrie's vocals when people used to bash him. I still enjoy most of his

vocal performances, he's become uninspired now, then again so has the whole band

His vocals are way better on his solo albums though.

Yeah bro I can't even listen to DT anymore. Maybe an occasional jam of Images or this, but that's it.

I think his vocals are great on this and Images and ok on Scenes but after that he kind of sounds whiny. Haven't checked out his solo stuff yet.

He has more freedom on his solo stuff yeah.

Its all worth hearing. Marco Sfogli wields the axe and does a great job; in some ways he's a better guitar player than petrucci.

Its interesting how most DT threads are people talking about how they can't listen to them anymore, they really are for middle/high school age. I've never really been able to jam them since then either, they're just so not subtle and cheesy, especially recently. But I still like them obviously

Yep. They're a gateway band; once you move past, there's not much reason to go back.

Dude, don't say things like that :/

I mean they were a gateway band for me as well, and I'm not going back to them much now so I understand

where you're coming from, but the older stuff is still objectively top notch.

Lol. Sorry bro!

Edit- I agree and can appreciate that this old stuff has value, but

yeah it just doesn't appeal to me much anymore. I may buy myself a

copy of I&W though as for some reason I don't have one.

I mean I still consider them more than just a gateway band, but their music sounds so forced and meandering to me now, but their 90s stuff is better with that, even FII. I haven't listened to them in over a year but probably will again someday...

According to the Wikipedia page for Kevin Moore, he's apparently in his third year of medical school (according to Ray Adler). That's pretty damn sweet p/

He's almost 50 too. That's awesome, though I don't know how long of a career he'll have
