how wrong i was about this album. i thought the ballads were corny and unfitting. remember hearing the song after Pull Me Under and going "what the fuck is this". now i realize that's the whole point. the contrast between the dark and light makes this a superb record but the prevailing notion that light can always win over dark even when it seems impossible is what makes it a classic. thank you dream theater for letting my ears be open to sounds it would otherwise reject < 3
