Just came back from the dentist, I can do some meth.

Oh yeah, the hype for this is ridiculous.

I don't understand the hype around this cd at all. They're just another terrible metalcore band, with nothing but the raspy vocals to set them aside from everyone else.

Band totally had nothing to do with shaping metalcore into what it is and stole their sound from another band.

Sorry, just my opinion, after all. I just always look for something different in everything I listen to. I did try pretty hard to get into these guys, but it just sounded too bland for me. Too many power chords and blast beats.

...you were listening to the right band, right? Especially since DEP is more defined by the technical sweeping and picking, dissonant chords, weird time signatures, and the occasional melodic song.

the number of weird chords I can't define outweigh the fifth chords in dillinger's music.

What I heard, was. I listened to most of this album, and a few sweeps were in there, but all the power chords stuck out more to me. What song should I listen to for a better musical sound? (Besides Mona Lisa)

Like, on Mona Lisa, the power chords define it. The sweeps should be more lain out.

It's just stuff I've noticed from being in a band and crap. Once again, my opinion.

People are still entitled to those, right?

Depends. Saying the DEP is based on power chords and blast beats is simply incorrect, so that does hurt your opinion's validity.

Listen to Calculating Infinity.

Alright, I'll give it a shot.

Does that mean this band gets added to the list of has-beens? There're too many to count, now.

They've just evolved over the years, as all bands should.

This is second best, imo.
