I don't know about that, but I do know that Jonny Craig has always being a heaping pile of flaming shit.

Acceptance Speech is underrated

Tillian-era is good, though I like Tides Of Man so much more. But, with him in DGD, Mothership seems the most solid album they've done together.

Tides of Man Tilian is best Tilian agreed

Though Empire Theory was great, when Dreamhouse came out I seriously couldn't stop playing it. Still soooooo good

Empire Theory is seriously on of my favorite albums of all time. I think Tilian hit his peak with DGD with IG and Mothership was a slight step backwards. Hopefully their next album will right the ship a little bit.

Yeah, both Tides of Man albums with Tilian rule. I'm glad he got more recognition w/DGD but it was a double-edged sword thing (with more recognition comes more unwarranted haters.) IMO, his progression (since he joined DGD) has been on an upward trend, so I'm excited to see where he goes next.

Acceptance Speech was Mess at his absolute best. Shame Tilian sounds like a squeaking balloon throughout most of it. Still a good alb tho

AS is pure nostalgia for me, considering it was my first DGD. If the album wasn't produced so horribly, and if Demo Team didn't exist, that album would be a lot better.

I like this production on it, it adds this atmospheric mystique. I would love to hear "Carve" and "Doom & Gloom" w/some clarity though I can feel how good it is musically, just can't **hear** it per se.
|
| |
I know what you mean, the lead guitar in the intro of Carve is totally buried for example

"Death Of The Robot With Human Hair" is one of the best AS songs imo, alongside "Turn Off The Lights, I'm Watching Back To The Future Pt. 2"

maybe today is the day acceptance speech will hit me better but I really didnt like way tillians vocals were mixed on it all and that really dampened the listen for me.
