I know it won't happen but I wish they toured on this album w/ Architects, TDWP & Deez Nuts

For as sloppy and hard to get through this album is for me, there is one saving grace, other than the song with Sam Carter: although it really takes a while to get going, the 2nd half of the title track is too good.

Actually, considering the sum of my RYM ratings on this album add up to about 1.8/5, I'm going to bump this to a 2.

I don't understand the appeal of this album at all

Suicide Season is a fantastic song, but the album as a whole is just ok imo.

There's a nice variety here imo but there's a couple of songs that are definitely not as good as the rest. Football Season is Over + Suicide Season are on opposite ends of the metalcore spectrum but they are both fantastic imo

@Firedust: Idk man, I feel that most of the concepts they explored here were better executed on Hell/Heaven and that That's The Spirit doesn't have nearly the same low points this album has.

Tracks 2, 5-8 & 10 are all 5s. Every thing else is 3-4. Track 9 is just an interlude so it doesn't get a rating.

@Ninja: I have a feeling you'll be getting a shitload of backers for that one... oof

@Screamo: Then logically, you'd be better off giving this a 4.5, tbh.

It's still a classic even if it's a lopsided album. Having 6 top tier metalcore tracks is enough in my book to be a 5

Album Rating: 3.0
That's still just 6 5's, 3 3-4's and an unrated interlude. Giving the three non-5's a 3.5 average would average your score out to about a 4.5/5, so if you were using my scale this would be a 4.5.

5 x 6 = 30
3.5 x 3 = 10.5
30 + 10.5 = 40.5
9 x 5 = 45
45 / 9 = 0.9
0.9 = 4.5/5

Albums aren't a formula lmao. When I sit down and listen to it, I think it's worth a 5 in that I enjoy myself the entire time & think this is a landmark release for both metalcore and the band itself

Understandable. I guess I just see ratings in a more mathematic form. I upped my rating to a 2 because I noticed my track averages weren't lining up with the 1.5 I had this at.

I mean that formula works for releases that have no flow like trap mixtapes. I think this album has a good flow when listening to it front-to-back but there's obviously tracks I come back to more often than others when I'm just listening to random tracks
