Amon Amarth got me into the growls, now I don't even understand how I was ever put off by them. It can be done poorly or well like anything else, just keep listening to the music and the growls will just make sense after a while.

just jam Ghost Reveries if you're trying to get into the growls. The production is so fantastic that the growls fit the music perfectly and make it much more intense when they come in.

Yeah tbh when I first tried to get into them it felt too Metal -> Acoustic -> Metal (repeat), but it's so fluid plus the atmosphere they create is p cool

Then again I'm still not their biggest fan so that's just my take

It's all good dude it took me the longest time for harsh vox in general to grow on me so not liking growls right away it quite alright.

Not liking growls at all is quite alright.

Not saying that goes for me, I think they can be good sometimes.

I came to appreciate growled vocals through Opeth as well. It did take quite a bit of time for me though. I remember hearing Ghost of Perdition for the first time and being completely put off by it.
