yeah 6/8,9/8, and 12/8 are all compound time sigs. It's the exact same thing as 2/4,3/4, or 4/4 with a triplet feel

I mean, yea, I get what are you saying, but to me these -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qBoq6BOPaS0&t=23s are clearly triplets in 4/4, and not regular 8ths in 12/8, tho it can be written like that too. I don't know, that's just the way I look at it. I just use the headbang test and see in what signature am I banging lol

that is indeed triplets in four; you can tell because while the guitars are playing triplets, the drums are just keeping a steady 4/4
whereas the end of jane doe is actually 12/8

the cymbals switch off every measure
when the tremolo guitar comes in it makes it really obvious because each note lasts a count of three.
