i'm not a fan of Elf, if I am to watch a Will Ferrell movie where he acts like a child it'll be Step Brothers

Yeah like Neurosis still hasn't grabbed my interest but I haven't reached too hard out that direction either

These guys are playing in the Netherlands for some festival in April so maybe time to plan a trip to Europe

4:30 and onwards in the first track sums up why I love this record so much. It sounds genuinely percussive and has a natural ambience to it that you just won’t find in the vast majority of modern metal records, where an artificial ‘clarity’ that removes all character from the timbre of the instrument is the default. It’s so nice to hear details such as the drummer stepping on the snare a little harder or the guitarist using the pick attack to dictate the tone.

OK that was very nice. Wish there was more of that.

1. Then I heard the t/t a lot. Didn't work either. Then I accepted defeat.

Respectfully this is not an album or kind of music for that matter that is easy to feel after one listen. If you liked that section that Aliktodolo described I’d recommend giving the album a couple more spins at least. There’s like, a dozen more moments like that one

But there's also like, more than a dozen moments that aren't like that one.

Also I appreciate the respect, thank you.

‘There’s post metal that’s harder to get into than this"

‘Hmm agreed but I imagine not for the same reasons’

Wouldn’t mind hearing this elaborated upon, I’d imagine it would depend on one’s previous experience (not sure myself, I find post-metal a touch easier on the whole, depends on what precisely we’re talking about mind).
