i saw mastodon in philly last week and brent was going off on the guy dealing with his monitor. flicked his puck at him and gave him the finger in the middle of one of his solos - found a video of it too.

"The first half is way weaker than the second"

Agreed. Jaguar God and Scorpion Breath alone destroy everything on the first half.

@Robot, my friend posted on my FB wall about it haha

"Dude, I meant to ask after your concert: any issues with Brett's monitor? He totally lost his cool in Philly when he was having problems, but somehow they still slayed."

yeah he gets a C- from me. sucks when the equipment fails and the fans egged him on, but the continued berating of the sound guy was uncalled for.

seems alittle more mainstream to me, and yes the second half is much better, still not sure about a rating after 1 listen

hahah - i was shocked cause i have only ever heard how nice and cool brent is. he was blowing the fuck up though.

also hope your friend got to see russian circles. they opened the doors 20 min. late with literally over 1000 people waiting in line, and almost everyone didn't get to see them play. Was cool seeing all of the bands but mannnn were my feet killing me standing up for all of those bands.

I saw him at a saint vitus show and avoided the dude even though I was a mastodon fan, dude was pretty loud and belligerent lol. nowadays I get it cause I'm alcoholic but back then nah. should've still approached cause now mastodon are as big as slipknot

this was maybe a 2.5 for me on first listen, but the more i listened to it the more i began to love it. accepting we will never get another leviathan or remission helps. also seeing them trend more towards CtS stuff is great too

I'm not big on CTS either tbh. Idk maybe that's why, both are really good just missing something for me. :[
