It is very much Americana "punk" much like the Gaslight Anthem. Their music and lyrics have more in common with Bruce Springsteen than Blink 182. Calling them folk punk is more accurate than pop punk IMO.

Ugh I wish this album was more consistent. Tracks 1-5 are a 5/5, 6, 8, and 12 are a 4.5/5, 9 is a 4/5, 7, 10, and 11 are a 3.5/5, and 13 is a 3/5.



I wanted to 4.5 this so badly but it’s just too inconsistent after the opening stretch and the closer really cemented me down at a 4.

This is one of the most consistent albums I can think of honestly. I feel like it's impossible for any of these songs to be more than 1.0 away from another.

I would say Boy Blue is a 3.5 track which means it's 1.5 away from Tellin' Lies, Your Wild Years and the title cut. Some days I might give Livin' Ain't Easy a 3.5 too



but other than that yeah it's pretty darn consistent
