The Culture series is fucking amazing and there's no ongoing story arc so you could start anywhere really but they're quite hard to get your head around.

The first three are all crackers.

"I'm reading Stephen King's Revival right now, 205 pages in and really enjoying it."

nice. stephen king gets a bad rap from a lot of people just because he's so successful. but ive never read a king book i havent enjoyed yet and both the stand and the dark tower saga are some of the best post apocalyptic shit ever.

@parks my favorite book is house of leaves how 'book pleb' am i, tear me up

i dont claim to be super well versed in novels at all but i cant think of a single high school or college book ive ever been forced to read being anything more than very mildly enjoyable in a sort of well its better than reading a textbook kind of way.

and ive never read fight club and dont care to.

@Potsy yeah I think King gets more hate than he deserves, enjoyed every novel of his I've read and his short story collections are amazing- especially Full Dark No Stars.

i'm curious where you live that certain films are systematically forced upon you in education, that sounds like an interesting experience
