I don't mean it that way. I mean that they have a lot of amazing albums but this is even more amazing.

"It just kind of seems like sad whiteboi singing without any real substance or great vox performance"

I never found Deftones whiny except for Teenager

Kinda wish Deftones made more songs like Elite, his vox is fuckin ferocious on that track.
|
| |
Chino sounds like he is just whispering into an ultra sensitive mic on the "Elite" hook, and it sounds abrasive af.

@ALA I agree with that. Plus the alternative(y) moments. Still not crazy about the nu-metal guitar work though.

I'm honestly starting to prefer the resmaster(remix?) of this album much more. The differences aren't immediately noticeable other than a few lyric changes here and there and the sample ending Pink Maggit but idk it has a different overall feel that makes me like it even more

Wouldn't really say any of the guitar work is super nu-metally on here except for probably Elite and obviously Back to School. This isn't Around the Fur guys.
But Deftones isn't really about riffs though. Everything they did after this guitar wise was pretty much songs with like two different chord progressions or some three not chug riffs with the occasional money riff (Beware is the perfect example of this).
I have actually learned 5/8 of the Deftones albums on guitar if yall didn't know, the first four and Koi.

"Knife Party is one of the best things ever. Probably one of the only times where the (rap?) - esc vocals really add a lot of energy to a song."
Bruh are you listening to the right song?

How are the vocals on Knife Party rap-ish? I honestly don't see it.
