Radiohead is an exceptionally talented band, it is just that they were not always so. Either I have to 5 every album by them or I am a troll?
It is hillarious on this site how people take albums so personally, like if you criticize an album you are attacking them personally. People's knee jerk reaction is to go through my ratings so they can try their damndest to discredit me by some 1/500 rating and save their ego. It's really sad that nobody wants to consider options that aren't part of the collective sputnik hivemind.

Opinions are fine. If you said you disliked this, I wouldn't care, but calling it generic radio rock, suggesting that everyone here that likes it fell into some sort of ridiculous marketing conspiracy, then comparing it to Nickelback makes me think you don't understand music.

I never compared them to Nickelback. I used Nickelback as an example to show how a band can get big without needing a good album you just need a catchy, accessible album.

Propose got a bit defensive methinks.
Anyways, this is a pretty solid album.

this isn't generic radio rock, that's reserved for ph alone
this is slightly experimental rock that just hasn't quite found itself yet imo

You suggested that they got successful via the same merits. That is comparing them.

And that's a perfectly fine opinion to have, Uranium, because they do expand on what they are trying to do here tenfold on OKC, but I still love this.

People want to have a discussion clearly so I am giving them one. If standing behind what I said makes me defensive, then you falling to the hivemind makes you a bitch.

ok then how is this one of the most influential alternative rock albums if it is so generic?
Influential on what? God knows I wouldn't want to listen to anything influenced by this. This is rock music, melodic and dumbed down for the masses why is that something to be proud of?
Edit: Also if a band decides to rip an album off dosen't make it good. Listen to the album for its own merit not because other people enjoyed it.
"Oh wow this album is shit but Tool likes it so this album is a 5/5"

Look, pro poo poo, you can have as many unpopular opinions as you want, but if you state them on a site where all anyone does is talk about music, you have to expect that a few people are going to jump on your case. You have to be able to defend your opinion and you are doing a shitty job of that.
