Everything after Night is the New Day has been dead on arrival for me, I should try again though as the general consensus seems to be this and Fall of Hearts are good.

That's interesting, because I think everything post-tGCD sounds very much alike.

Goal for today to try again and see if I get different vibes, want to like them as I love the band before that point

maybe i pirated a weird copy but the vocal mixing in some places on this album is very bizarre to me, sometimes jonas is so low you can barely hear him and then he comes out full volume in a section right afterwards. i guess its an aesthetic choice?
this is def growing on me though, the one you loved, buildings and first prayer are probably my tops

There's a bit of an issue on speakers, though I don't have much problem hearing him most of the time. I'd rather point it out in Poets of the Fall's music, it's my favourite band but the calmer bits are barely audible and it drives me nuts.
This was a grower for me as well. Leech, Ambitions, Prayer and Dead Letters didn't stick the landing for me at first, now after 3 years I greatly appreciate them.

ambitions is one im still waiting to click with me yea, dead letters was one of the more immediate songs for me but i dont really like it as a closer, i usually jam act of darkening right after it when i jam it

One of the best Kat albums right here. The opener is a favorite.

I'm not big on The Act, but I think it's one of their more unique songs nonetheless (man, a lot of creativity ended up in those b-sides and bonus tracks). Dead Letters works just fine for me, also served me a bit as a point of discussion with certain Fallout players.

The One You Are Looking For is Not Here is the only song that didn't click with me as hard as the others. This is my second favorite Katatonia though I'd say.

I prefer Brave Murder Day and The Great Cold Distance, but their whole discog slays extremely hard except for City Burials and the new one.
