Listening to this at night is a surprisingly unsettling experience, won't lie. "Etched Headplate" in particular just sounds so weird and uncanny, as if it was made by something inhuman, especially when the voice goes deep in the "for yooou" part. Gives me the shivers.

i mean, yea, it's a consolidated release that's pretty much a go-to for anyone dipping into electronic for the 1st time cos it's liked and highly regarded by hardcore fans and more casual listeners alike.

upon 1st listen album is a 3.5 my point of reference is listening to all kinds of electronica throughout the '90s & i was really big into early '00s trance.another big + for this album is i recognize a lot of the music that is sampled and really dig that.hopefully this album gets better with repeated listens.as others have mentioned this is kinda of entry level for me, simple isn't always a bad thing tho.

also, yes, def like the most acclaimed and accessible electronic album of the 2000s basically, especially if we’re taking “accessible” to mean the more direct sense of something you can easily seek out and hear and read about. Maybe “prominent” the better word in the age of Spotify
