that's because brutal death, deathcore, grind, whatever all just beat you over the head and are unrelenting. The production on this makes it heavier, and the super heavy parts don't all just string together, you're given a chance to breathe and that makes the heavy parts just feel heavier.

@Wretched: cheers for the explanation but yeah I get that, I just find it amusing how I initially presumed BDM would be even heavier than this, nope. The production on this is indeed insane and the implementation of tension via the doomy sections just gives it a whole different dimension.
