There are a few lyrical connections with Symmetry, and I don't think they re-used thoses riffs for lack of originality because then...where the hell did the Exogenesis series come from? I think they have just gotten progressively different, and I don't use that excuse for all of my favorite bands. For example I used to love Green Day, but it's pretty obvious what little talent and overall interest in the art was involved in their evolution. But when it comes to Muse, the sheer determination and passion in all of their music can't be denied. I really hate Black Holes but I still think it's a necessary part of their discography that led them to this, a magnum opus of sorts.
