someone actually caring about lyrics in death metal? haha wut
What's the problem? poetry is as important as the music itself. That's why I have a recent tendency of listening bands or musicians with rich lyrical content dealing with philosophic doubts, humanism, social issues, environmental concerns, politics and I even accept mythological stories and fiction stories such as genesis get em out by friday. Everything that Fred Durst didn't do in the first 3 albums. I'm tired of the lyrics regarding relationships and generic bullshit such as the lyrics of show me what you got or 9 teen 90 nine. If you enjoy that kind of lyiricism, good for you, But I'm not attracted to it anynmore. EVEN THOUGH, I'm still enjoy some reflective lyrics about emotional solitude or failed relationships through deep poetry just like alice in chains love hate love.

I can make you a fuckin 400 word essay explaining why lyrics are an essential part of music and why the content must be meaningful. That's the reason why genres like regaetton are so popular. "Dude I don't care about what they are saying, the beat is what makes the song interesting". Excuse me, whaaaaaaaaaaaat?. I feel sorry for the Women who dances along regaeton and they just pretend they don't understand the lyrics, while in fact they are denigrating them and in many of the songs the woman is treated as an object.

you feel sorry for a woman enjoying music?

Women shouldn't be allowed to enjoy music, it's so far over their pretty heads that they can't possibly notice when something is degrading.
|

a lot of female pop songs these days are about treating men like sex objects. if they got a good beat im still going to enjoy it despite whatever bad shit they saying about us

Yeah it's some kind of rebellion against the male dominated & often misogynistic industry they work in, not really sure it has the desired effect because I'd hazard a guess the subject matter would be more likely to arouse men than actually make them feel like objects. In fact it could actually be damaging in some ways idk.
Anyway this is a weird discussion for a Death thread, haha

Rodrigo recently turned himself in to police for roundhouse kicking a woman listening to "Big Poppa". His defense is meant to kick her ipod and he has refused to comment further. Trust me I am his lawyer.

Maybe he could start a new list with some albums that could be considered misogynistic?
