"this is not sad music"
I mean it's all relative but Surge opens with "you look so good you make me want to kill myself." the lyrics are mostly theatric interpretations of daily life in a drug-riddled hometown, without passing judgment. They're really fucking cool. I can't think of another non-rap album with an unreliable narrator.

Repeater records just posted a live video of them in ‘06, I’ve never seen a good one until now. You can see the drummer perfect. So fucking cool. https://youtube.com/watch?v=5ZJ5hnxkNIw

the instrumental at the end is also sick. looks like that's the drummer's actual yt channel. he has several other live gospel videos.

"It blows my mind this band doesn't even have a wiki"
Dam, that is odd considering many people write one for lesser known bands.

I thought it was good, I doubt there are any bad tracks on this. I just cant see myself having the urge to listen to it except from the desire to rate it or find out if it grows on me.
It never impressed me enough to be retained in my mind. That's probably some of the reasons why.
My rating is not final and I am not confident in it.

“I mean it's all relative but Surge opens with "you look so good you make me want to kill myself."”
Actually it’s “you look so good you make me NOT want to kill myself”, guessing you made a typo but that pretty obviously changes the meaning a bit lol

@space right, that. good call. "not want to" implies a broader dissatisfaction with life in the album's setting, which is way better than being hung up on some nameless addressee.
