I mean when i was younger i jammed the hell out of and justice for all on the basis of its drumwork and nowadays I appreciate it for songs like One but also having the most intricate but also natural instrumentation of any metallica. if i had to drop it back down to a 4.5 it'd be because of the lack of audible bass + scooped mid production.

Stop 5ing ronnie radke albums and we can talk, venin.
|
| |
there are literally 5 songs on this album that lend themselves to percussive hevy energy and you've already ticked off two of em
"plus someone said revolution 9 was scary...maybe by 1968 standards but Sabbath just 2 years later sounded way more haunting"
revolution 9 was scary in the way that the first lumiere screenings convinced people they were about to be killed in a traincrash
sabbath was scary in the way that your first horror movie is scary

storm lol the highest any ronnie anything has is maybe a 3.5 and thats just because DIYLF had some jams
and yeah i know lars isn't the best drummer these days, but the aggressive drumming on that album was what made me want to become a drummer initially.

i fail to see the correlation
lars may not be "great", but you're KIDDING yourself if you think he didn't influence people to want to become drummers. same with guys like dave lombardo (the biggest selling point of anything slayer imo), bill ward, and nick menza. hell, neil peart deserves mention too, one of the GOATs of prog drumming.

pots have you heard ringo's drumbeat on ummm the third track on yoko ono's plastic ono band album
