Lowered to a 4.5, this has grown off me ever so slightly (I guess that comes with

almost 50 listens in less than 2 months) but never the less, one of my highest 4.5s

and my favorite album of the year so far. This Message Edited On 03.20.08

I dunno man. This is technically the better record, but I've found Kezia to be much more accessible. I listen to it all the time at the gym. I dunno whatev.

What's funny is I agree with Josh D. but I still like Kezia's sound more.

I don't. I never really liked Kezia much other than Heretics & Killers and Divine Suicide Of K. This album grabbed me by the balls though. Although i've never listened to the full album more than twice in one day, I still love it. Palms Read and Disstinence, ftfw.

Balls, you're such a liar. You used to talk about how much you liked Kezia until you realized how many other people liked it, then it was suddenly "just okay".

As much as Bloodmeat is an awesome song, I'm no longer impressed with it. Here is why:
Listen to Bloodmeat 1:25 - 1:50.
Then listen to Finch, The Casket of Roderic Usher (from the Say Hello to Sunshine album) 0:15 - 0:30.

the bass sweeping part in the dissentience in the background is so badass.

^ Yea Arif looks so chill when he plays the bass live, its fun to watch.

I know I'll get flamed for this, but Rody's voice gets a liiiiiiiiiiiiittle too whiny for me sometimes.

Sometimes.

his falsetto when he did it in one of the songs for like 3 seconds ruined that part of the song for me. it was so unnecessary and his regular vocals are so great compared to his random bout in falsetto. i believe it's in wretch.

Yeah I see what you mean with Rody's vocals getting whiny sometimes but there is a lot of cool shit with the vocals going on. Considering bumping this up to a 4.

I came across a Youtube vid about that and pointed it out to Coke to see if he knew anything about it. He said something along the lines of "Yeah that Finch thing is hilarious. It's just a standard *official name of musical thing* that many bands use." I forgot what he said it's called, sorry.

It was what Arif told me. He basically said, half-joking, "of all the things we've stolen we get blamed for something we didnt take," then he told me it was a traditional samba rhythm. To think you actually took that shitty youtube video serious is hilarious though.

Well, I nearly did give it a 5 at least.

But the songs all are like:

"crazy guitar, gutteral, high-pitched emo wail, drumming, no song structure whatsoever"

gets old.
