Gillan was the best of the vocalists from the big 3, and I actually prefer Blackmore over Iommi but because of his work with Rainbow, not Purple, so yeah, overall, the best of the 3 classic bands

@Nero & facupm: I'm down with that, yeah.

I mean, the case can be made for JPJ, but Geezer was just too sexy.

Nah, Plant could never hit the highs of Gillan

JPJ is a nice bassist, but he can't hold a candle to Geezer

Bonzo may be better than Bill Ward, but that's actually a harder choice than some may think

Yeah, Bill is always overshadowed by Tony and Geezer

Interestingly enough, I might side with facupm on this one.

Tough choice, because both rule, but Plant could hit those notes like nobody's business.

robert plant had an emotional feel to it which gillan didnt quite (except child in time) and he's definitely my favorite vocalist out of the three

I agree he's more emotional but nothing beats the craziness of Gillan on a song like Bloodsucker

Dude, if you want emotions, go and listen to When a Blind Man Cries, that shit is like the most emotional thing ever

In regards to drums, I'll go Bonzo 'cause he's become one of my all-time faves.

Having said that, Ward blended in perfectly with Iommi and Butler. War Pigs has some of his best drum work, although I may have missed other shining moments from him.
