yea that seems to be the most common thread here. if we can all call a truce and stop fighting eachother that'd be nice. Let's all agree to disagree. I'd love nothing more than for this fighting to be done. I agree with you I really shouldn't have been so hyper impulsive. I think the thing that annoyed me the most was the implication that I'm a "victim" of this album per this review.
even if I have problems with say the review is it really worth all this shit? Sorry everyone. let's just keep this up as a harsh reminder of the lesson I have to learn to grow as a person.

Good, best thing to do now is use this garbage fire of a thread to reflect on how you have reacted how you could better react in future. Start small all of this wont change magically all the time. Also admit that there are parts of you that wont change and are part of who you are

For sure. I think the hardest obstacle is probably accepting that I'm never going to fit the image that the world wants to place on me. I'm never going to be this perfect little angel thats never done wrong. And I feel like especially on Twitter people are gonna want that of me.

Twitter is a cesspool

Definitely. But sadly unless another site overtakes it, it's gonna be important for promotion (I can't be assed with Instagram) especially if I want to become a pro wrestler.
And I'd hate for my career to be sabotaged because someone on Twitter would think it'd be a good idea to try and defame me and the post gets to the workplace etc. I actually have a friend that's going through that exact thing in the indie circuit right now.

Hey im sure ill find my niche. I just never feel like it bc it makes me feel like I'm back in high school being assigned a book to write essays on half the time
|
| |
yeah but..... you dont have to write essays for it
on a serious note, I got into 'serious' literature in my teens by reading what appealed to me, classic sci-fi, and using that as a springboard to other things like Kurt Vonnegut. Also shorter works can be good to attempt because its harder for your attentiont to flag (Old man and the sea by Hemingway or Metamorphosis by Kafka for example). Speaking of Kafka, i think hes good to attempt because the absurdity and overall strangeness makes it more interesting than something like, Paradise Lost

I'm also just used to contemporary modern literature flat out sucking. Stuff like Twilight, Harry Potter, LOTR, anything super insanely fantasy based I just can't. I find it hard to get invested in some huge cinematic universe ala the soulless superhero movies Marvel keeps churning out but in book form.

If theres a recent movie based on it or coming out. Its usually middling and meh. Ive read a book about lesbian necromancers in space, the second book was almost entirely in second person shit was wild. Also look at anthologies and collections of short stories. Im happy to reccomend some books ive read if you want just give some idea on what you are into

Tbh when I was in school, sometimes they'd give me an audio counterpart so I'm able to listen to the book and I've found that was a lot more my thing as long as the narrator is good.

Whatever works for you. Big Fantasy books can be tough to get a foot in the door for me especially if they have a lot of books in the series

LOTR does not suck, LOTR is a corner piece on fantasy lit! I should find some nice editions for my collection
