Fredrik only contributes with 5 miserable solos? The Fuck?

Dude if you are not going to have enough time to be part of the band, just quit.
|

I'm tired of the "he's busy building his own studio" bullshit. I think it's an excuse that meshuggah fans made to justify his absence from the last albums.

He obviously dont give a shit about the band quite as much yeah theres no other way around it he's been supposedly building this studio and working on that solo album since before violent sleep. Like bro that's a good 7 years. and he wasn't touring with them for while to.

He's legit only written a handful of songs since back in 2008 with obzen. That's a long time. Thomas actually did a interview where he said marten has wrote the most music for the band over the last 20s years since nothing.

This.
Band is in some kind of "force majeur" transition, and that was more than apparent on the previous album.
Obviously, it's none of our business, we can only comment in good will, how good this album is on its own, and compared to the classics, Obzen included.
Right now, for me, it's left The Violent Sleep of Reason at the bottom of their back catalogue (it is higher than Contradictions Collapse though), and it strives to reach Koloss.

That just gives me more respect for Marten for coming up with killer grooves and riffs on his own

People saying 'The Abysmal Eye' hits harder for coming after Broken Cogs, but Broken Cogs leading into 'Light the Shortening Fuse' is top-tier.

Did they ever announce why they postponed their NA tour??? Was supposed to see them in February, got an email saying the show was postponed along with the rest of the tour, don't recall it stating any reason and tbh don't recall seeing it discussed here either

Don't know! All I know is I'll be seeing them in May in the Netherlands. Which was also a postponed tour, so maybe something was difficult schedule wise?

The one critique I have with the album is theres nothing here that's top tier meshuggah. It's like a flatline pretty good album front to back. Like d to s tier I would put this b tier all day. It's like the definition of a 4. I love it cause its meshuggah and Its quality but theres nothing here they haven't already done better in the past
