I think "dormouse sighs" may overtaken Julia for me. I feel the same way about Wendy as I do Hydra. Awesome songs but the weight of them is lifted a little when taken out of context.

yeah dormouse sighs really grew on me

I remember listening the first time and resenting it for killing the heaviness/momentum of that opening trifecta, but now it's a top 5 song from the album easily

"would it be blasphemous to say Wendy & Betsy has overtaken Julia as my #2 from this album?"

Only if it doesn't eventually move to #1 ;)

nah that spot is forever reserved for Michael

yo I legit felt misty eyed listening to it driving to work this morning, I still don't even grasp all the lyrics it's just the emotion behind it -- it's earth-shattering

Honestly, Matador is in my number one spot right now

Matador is nice don't get me wrong, but it's prob not in my top half

The songs have really begun to separate quality-wise in my ears...they're all good but Michael, W&B, Julia, and New Wine/New Skins are in a class of their own.

I realize I’ll be in the minority on Matador, but as of today it’s the one that stays with me throughout the day.

His inflection on Michael when he screams “your little brother can’t paddle anymore” honesty destroys me and makes me so sad for like an hour each time I hear it.

same here

I don't grasp the full message but there are like 3-4 one-liners that wreck me every time

tbh my biggest fear before this came out was the whole thing being filled with cryptic lyricism, but I actually love it now. It’s more like an atmosphere than a direct meaning, and it’s genius. Each song has a couple great hard-hitting lines, but the rest is all moodscape imagery. W&B is honestly a perfect example of that

Interesting, those are all the ones that haven't really clicked for me yet. Dormouse through Tortoises are by far my favorites so far.

Yeah Flee is definitely my top pick so far, still can’t quite rank the album

I get the love for tracks like Flee and Winter Solstice but I just don't feel as much passion in those

Catchy as all hell though

“Who can mark the hour our soul sick friendships die?” is still one of my favorite lyrics from this whole thing
