rating bump leaves infinite granite as my "least" favorite but I still quite like it, just feels a bit more one-dimensional taking all the heavy bits out. so excited for the new album, hope it's a hybrid of everything they've done before

the opener is trash imo. it sounds fine until the vox and lead guitar do that dumb duet where the lead whines on off-key, ruins that whole section. dunno why their guitars randomly decide to sound terrible on this album (and bermuda!) but they sure do like doing it.

infinite granite is great yeh, but just...fuck i think i still pref the contrast between the lighter sound and george's screams here, not fully sold on his singing but it gets the job done + the few moments where they fully unleash feel extremely special and earned on there

the end of that melody when he puts vibrato on that one note sounds so annoying to me, it feels like it purposely makes the melody less smooth. on re-listen the rest of the song is much better tho, it's just that one part I really dislike. Actually that whole melody sounds kinda off-key still, it should sound more lush but it's just very raw and sticks out against the rest of the melodic tone of the song.
