I didn't like this for ages, but at some point it clicked with me. It felt generic, but upon further thought I couldn't think of any other shoegaze band that ever managed to keep this exact mood going with for an entire album, at least not with this exact amont of energy. Slowdive is as close as I've found, but they kinda delve off into more melancholic territory whereas this always stays on the happier side of nostalgic or bittersweet. Which I appreciate.

Yeah you nailed it inferno, we're conditioned going into this to not like it given the ridiculous response it received on release, but the more you listen the more the layers reveal themselves.
