The problem with the brave little abacus is that he became a bit too cocksure of himself. Developed a swagger and before he knew it his counting tiles were swaggering a little more than they should. It wasn't long before he was taken down a peg or two by the hard as nails calculator.
Hospital, splinters all over the gaff. It was horrific but lessons were learned.

first track is actually the weakest one imo. at least the first half, the way it's mixed makes it sound a bit compressed and uninspired.

as much as i love that album the real drums on this hone their sound to the perfection they were so close to
and i don't understand the gripes about the prod. on this, their music wouldn't make any sense if it sounded plastic and methodical

the first half of the first song is the only moment I dislike the mix on this, just sounds flat to me. but yeah now that you mention it, i like the sound of the debut more. it's more raw, more "credible". I love this one as well, it's more mature and developed, but I also wish they got rid of some of the Lift Your Skinny Fists...-like bombastic horns etc, cause it feels too sweet in a cliched way sometimes.
