well that was a miscalculation. lol
point being tho, despite loving a lot of hip-hop, i can definitely identify with what ford brought up. it's prevented me from getting into a few artists

Like who? @cylinder
|

if i don't dig em i prob don't remember lol. was kinda just using that as a blanket term anyway. poor phrasing, my bad
|

damn I opened the Pantera Box lol
I am basically brought up metal kind of guy but I am old enough to have widened my taste to a lot of styles. Hip Hop/Rap is probably my less explored genre along with electronic music so I am kind of going through it right now. Jamming all these best of all times lists by Sput is actually being a lot of fun.
Like I had no fucking idea about Talking Heads until yesterday.
For real.

Get on The Infamous (Mobb Deep) and The Marshall Mathers LP (Eminem) if you haven't already. Those 2 and this are my top 3 in terms of hip hop. So kmuch great stuff though.

what is it about andre that makes him so good? real question. I've heard a bit of outkast and I really dig him too, I'm just curious as to what everyone else's take on it is

Tons of great hip hop out there but I'm not as into it as I used to be. Partially because I don't find most of the new stuff coming out to be anything but derivative of the big beat, ticking hi hat triplets Lex Luger style he started around Flockaveli or just too woke for my tastes. Every genre has copycats but I don't think any other genre is more tolerant of the same style done by different names than hip hop in the last 10 years.
If I'm in the mood for it I'll either reach for something classic like this or someone who originally made the great fun hip hop stuff like Gucci or Keef.
Back from the Dead is an amazing tape.

Andre's flow and his particular brand of witty lyricism is what makes me love him.
