not necessarily in terms of subject matter, but the way they were written on somewhere was much more poetic and required a lot more thought, rather than spelling everything out for the listener like on this album.

lyrically, SATB runs circles around itself. it's probably the weakest aspect of that album.

SATB was about twice as catchy as this, but had roughly a tenth the impact. Dreyer's vocal delivery on that album is what sold the lyrics, much more than the lyrics themselves.

Having SATB as a classic I was totally surprised that I never really liked this even after repeated listens. There is just something about it that completely puts me off. I'd rather not rate it at all.

prolly my fav screamo record of all time, at this point.

yeah gospel is pretty cool. raw shit. can't say i give a shit about the lyrics on that one though. some sick guitarwork, though.

didn't hear any unexpected left-hooks on PBTT's albums like a Broken Jar, a Poem, and All Our Bruised Bodies delivered on this thing.

but were they all on the same album before? delivered with coherent vocal delivery and the level of personality/likability that Dreyer has?
