"absolutely destroys" is a bit strong, but I do agree that LCW is their best.
TLCW - 4.9
Long Drive - 4.7
TM&A - 4.6
WWD - 4.1
and I remember Good News being a 3.1 and Strangers being a 2.7 but I haven't listened to either one in a very long time

We Were Dead has some classics on there in Parting of the Sensory and Spitting Venom...the best tunes on Good News are Bukowski and Float On. That's a knock out in round one.

First three (actual) songs on good news are the three biggest high points on the album for me. Then it dips a lot from tracks 5 through track 9 (besides bukowski). Besides the view and maybe satin in a coffin the rest of the album afterwards doesn't quite live up to the standards set by the opening songs. We were dead's highlights are much more scattered throughout the album but besides spitting venom i don't like anything on it as much as the first three on good news. Everything else on we were dead is about as good as the back half of good news
I'm relistening to we were dead right now though and so far I'm enjoying it a bit more than i remembered

I think 'Ocean Breathes' is a 3/5 tune and 'The View' a 3.5, never been blown away by them. Opener is sweet enough, solid 4/5 territory. The instrumental passage in Tetons is 5/5 and the highlight of the album
