i feel that btbam are adept at their instruments but instead of mixing their sounds they instead slap them together haphazardly.

for instance, instead of mixing the ho-down with their sound, they instead have a heavy section, followed by a mr. bungle, followed by whatever comes after

i think a much stronger performance could be achieved by melding all their ideas... this record comes off as a sort of "hey, i just thought of this!" "COOL, WRITE IT DOWN" "but dude the record's already 40 minutes long" "it doesn't matter, we don't need cohesion!"

also, tommy rogers is awful

Yeh his vocals give me a headache, but his keyboard riffs make me want to fellate him while im giving handies to Paul and Justin.

i hate to blame trends, but honestly, i think a lot of people let the thoughts of others shape their perception

i used to really enjoy this, but i just abhor Rogers' vocals now, and because of that, it feels like a pizza with poop on it

sure, you're eating pizza

but, fuck, man

look out

there's poop on it

you don't want any part of that

if you think Tommy Rogers (or the band, for that matter) is bad, then you've never seen this band live.

I'm about to freeze myself and have Butters wake me up in two weeks so I can get The Great Misdirect. Fuck I need that album i'm betting on it to be my AOTY. Obfuscation is ridiculous. And Mirrors is a great introduction.

They played two new songs when I saw them live back in September, and if memory serves "Obfuscation" was awesome but the second song destroyed the fucking shit out of it. BTBAM, Red Chord, and Pelican on the same day - September and October have really been ridiculous!
