I agree. The remaster makes it sound like everything after Constellations, and we already have enough of that lol

The original production is my favorite thing about the album. It's hilariously ott

That's a shame, the original is so fun. The remaster is tight too, but the original just has some headphone bashing, speaker destroying mayhem attached to it.

Did they really though? I'd say Leveler and Anthem are worse than this. Constellations is about on the same level. Rescue - definitely better.

well i mostly mean constellations and rescue. leveler is pretty crappy but at least it wasn't infested with annoying breakdowns the same way this is. after rescue i kinda lost interest in these guys so no comment on the albums after that

Wow, I didnt remember nearly as much from this as I expected. I listened to these guys a lot in middle/high school, but I'd never know that based on what I remember lol. This album is a very odd case where the sum of the parts is much greater than the whole. Each song is at least a 3 (or 3.5 in the case of Truth of a Liar, Composure, and Black Sheep), but as an album experience, everything just turns into a bland, homogeneous blob. Which is a shame, given the clear talent on display here. I thought I was being harsh on my first run through, so I tried it a second time, but that just doubled down my feelings. Really wanted to give this a 3, but I just cant, the breakdowns just get so fucking tiring
