never had any idea how raw these guys' live shows could be and now they're freaking playing at festivals

honestly what switch flipped in their brains, not that it's a bad thing (i haven't listened to we were dead) but it was just so abrupt

you talkin about modest mouse? yeah their live shows in the 90's were raw and loud as fuck, so much youth and energy

^watch that when you get the chance

They were such a different band in the 90's, their only drive was to many amazing music and they did it so well. i feel like this passion was lost when they signed to a major label cause everything was just handed to them instead of them having to work on it (not that I don't think M&A was a great record, cause it was). but i dunno man, they just never sounded the same to me when they got bigger, it's like a part of them faded away

Keepin' the 5 train rolling.

I also used to have HV above this. I heard it first, and I was falling into the trend of attaching myself to the first album I heard by any given band. There are still parts of HV that just really take it to the next level for me, but Boxer stands a bit stronger as a whole. It has really been

scripting my life lately.

This album has taken over my life. Used to prefer HV, but this is just so damn consistently great. Pretty much every moment is relatable some way or another
