It is my dude, can't do anything about it. The sound they went for with this record landed for me.

All of The National's albums offer something a little different, so I understand. Still... Alligator, Boxer, and HV are some of the best of the best. Their 2nd wave has been a bit lackluster for me in comparison

Really hoping I’m more on the Faraudo/neekafat/boneyking side of the equation than the doofdoof and pretty much everybody else side when I finally get to this.

For anyone who has seen a show on this tour cycle, was it at least a great show despite it being IAETF heavy? If I like the album no problem but if I don’t...it’ll be frustrating to not hear all their great songs my first time seeing them.

It depends on wether you're on our side of the equation, I think. If you're not, I'd wait until their next touring cycle.

I've loved everything they've released since Alligator, so giving each album a rating is pretty relative for me. That album is the one I love the least, and it is still a solid 4.5 for me.

This sitting on #200 on the 2019 charts is quite a sight to behold.

Already bought tickets. Hyped! I think I’ll like this album but who knows. I love SWB on first listen and TWFM is my favorite of theirs.

Regardless, I want to see them and it might be awhile before I’d get that opportunity again.

I know you're a superfan doof, but this really isn't that far of a drop from their past few.

@gyro — I mean, I haven’t heard this yet, but I noticed that you gave SWB a 3 also, and I’m leaning towards a hard 4.5 on that album. So in that case, I find that 3 for it head scratching. Hoping I look at your 3 for this in the same way lol.
