it's not a very flattering comparison, this is a very nice record

but the muffled tone of her voice and production feel very familiar. melodies too.

this is better, i'll say it again, but nonetheless

Convince me Punisher is subtle and layered and not just a bit boring, neeka, please. : ( The songs that are good are good, though, wow.

All the singles (obviously) -- Garden Song is even better here with DVD and as an opener -- and the last two songs: *chef's kiss*

Agreed, Garden Song works so well in context

The last two blow me away as well

Not as big a fan of the mellow tracks?

On stranger, I initially found the more subdued tracks dull. Over time, the details that make each song great revealed themselves, and the subtlety only benefits these details. Seems to be the same on Punisher. For example, the title track benefits so much from the production - on some lines, every word lands so hard with how the background ebbs and flows and glitches around it. Sure, maybe it leans on the production, but it’s part of the song - there’s a reason it’s not presented as an unplugged version. No harm in that to me.

Yeah, agreed. Title track has won me over. So, so, so good. Is that Lucy and Julien on Graceland Too? Beautiful, aaa.
