the show was really good. the system only dreams in total darkness, i need my girl, fake empire and mr november were all amazing live. Mr novemeber especially was a highlight. And even though i don't care a whole about the studio version, turtleneck goes hard live.

It was a bit sloppy sometimes though, im pretty sure that matt berninger forgot a few a at one point, he didn't sound so great at the start of squalor victoria. Overall, it was still great though

"Good luck with not getting mugged in that part of Amsterdam!"

haha that went well. Haven't had much trouble there ever anyway

@Pangea I've heard Matt still gets stage fright and uses a teleprompter so he doesn't forget lines, bless him. I think it adds to the charm (note, I haven't actually seen them).

Yeah i heard about that. It wasn't a huge deal anyway and i think it only happend once. Matt was generally great, he constantly searched for interaction wirh the public too which was really cool

If at all haha but it does seem like they’re having fun with nuggets on this tour. Another show a couple days ago got both Karen and Santa Clara.. glad you had a good time man, they’re really something to behold live

I was at the same concert! Amazing show, almost every song gave a good vibe, especially Apartment Story with their different way of building the climax. Nobody Else will Be there was the first of the encore songs and I didn't expect that. I really hoped they'd play my favorite song of the new album and I was kinda bummed when I thought they wouldn't.

I also touched Matt's beard when he was walking through the audience during Mr. November. All in all a good evening.

@talons "Just because someone doesn't think one song on an album they love is amazing, how could they love the whole album? Nobody Else Will Be There isn't even representative of how the overall album sounds. If anything, it's a bridge from TWFM that segues the listener into the main identity of SWB. It's a great song, but I agree with the people who don't count it among the best on here."

I think you've misunderstood me, I'm not saying it's weird for people to dislike the one song but still love the album, rather that if you're rating it 4+ that means you both enjoy the new direction and are likely already a big fan. So if Nobody Else is the bridge between albums and styles, I'd just imagine that if you love the album that song would be included.

Also I just really like the song and it's probably my favourite on here.

Yeah I get that, I mean no one was saying it wasn't a good song but plenty don't consider it near the best on here. I totally get pretty much any of these songs, including Nobody Else Will Be There, being a fan favorite for all kinds of reasons. I'd think Nobody Else Will Be There would likely stand out more to people whose favorite National is TWFM for example, since it does have that quiet, sad feel to it.

I don't really come back to any songs on this record. No way it's better than TWFM.
