Yeah that song fucks me up with just the album context but that time after the relationship ended was arguably the most powerful reaction I've ever had to a song.

they've changed a lot from Hospital Music, essentially sounds like a different band but they only got better imo (with a minor hiccup with AA)

check out the eps Darkness, Oh Hell and Never Born, Never Dead and see if you dig those then check Bad Luck then this

That's how I feel about it. I was surprised when this was getting such high acclaim, because all the other stuff I'd heard was varying in quality. But, I won't deny this album's greatness.

This album is fucking fantastic. However, I just absolutely hate the vocalist most of the time, if he we're to be replaced with someone who sounds less frog-ish - hands down this would be one of my favorites.

Does anyone know if there's any instrumental versions?

EDIT: Kermit the frog might just grow on me.

'Kermit the frog might just grow on me.'

He grew on me. He was the biggest hurdle for me to get into this, but it was well worth it. My girlfriend fucking loathes his voice and really this album in general lol.

He still gets on my nerves with certain tracks but as a whole I've learned to accept him as part of what makes these guys so different

I had the same problem with Titus Andronicus and The Tallest Man on Earth back in the day; it always seems like the most grating voices on first listen end up being the most rewarding in the long run

I've listened to this like ten times and can't get into it, it's so homogenous

Fuck, the list of bands I like with weird-sounding singers is long.

The list of bands I don't like with weird-sounding singers is way, way longer.

If you go in to another band's album wanting certain things from a previous work you're bound to be disappointed, regardless of artist.

I haven't heard the EP in full, so I don't know how different it is, tbh.
