Can't stop coming back to this at the moment, Mist into Underbite hypes me up so much too. Awesome album, maybe a 4.5 I dunno

I remember being initially disappointed with this one but it really grew on me over time. Yellow Teeth is a song that has always gotten me fired up. I also loved the production here...everything is so clear and distinct. It really lets the musicality of the band shine.

I've only been listening to PTH since their latest album dropped a few weeks ago. That album piqued my interest, but it was actually Volition that made me a fan. Something about the opening few notes of Clarity grabbed me almost instantaneously. That transition between Without Prejudice and Yellow Teeth just sold the deal for me. I must've played those two songs back to back about 10 times now, I always have to listen to them again lol. I've only recently started appreciating the 2nd half of Volition, because I was constantly looping those 2 songs haha

The opening of Without Prejudice is one the heaviest grooves they've ever produced. This album was Protest becoming truly comfortable with who they are as songwriters without Arif's lyricism coloring their projects.

Drumhead Trial might be their best post-Fortress song for me, it's so damn hype. Aside from that, Plato and Skies are both highlights here. Agreed that the production is truly excellent

Tilting Against Windmills is their best song imo, flat out barnburner. Without Prejudice isn’t too far off tho

Always a good sign when a bunch of different people pick different songs as highlights.
Mist was my favorite song on this from play one though and remains in that spot.

I've been sticking with this album for a couple of weeks now, think it's time to move onto another PTH one. Any recommendations where to go next (I've listened to Volition about 30 times and Within just the once, but I'm not counting that lol)

Kezia and fortress are almost universally celebrated as their best so I would say start chronologically at kezia.

I've just jumped into Palimpsest as I wanted to hear how they followed this up. It's wild! I'm even more intrigued now lol.

They're all great so take advantage of not needing to go chronologically. Choose your own adventure and let us know how it goes. (Don't forger to throw A Calculated Use of Sound in there as well)
