I'm really hoping James Kelly decides to revive AOP again. His growth as an artist really showed with each AOP release, especially with TGAI. As a vessel for his musical exploration, AOP was a perfect fit imo.

Maybe not 'hate' but based on his interviews and fb posts, he seems frustrated with metal. Maybe things have changed now it's been 7 years since this was released though

Theres a general 'he hates metal' narrative around him now. I dont know how old you are Choc but it happens as people grow up and get older sometimes. Dude been playing metal his entire life, playing shows with 3 other metal bands every night. He wanted to try some different shit for a while and there was a few posts ridiculing the metal scene ( which IS quite laughable at times honestly) but the last year or so he's been hinting more and more at coming back around to metal as some do, cutting around in Morbid Angel shirts and more than a few hints at AOP again. ive seen this happen with loads of people who come back around to their bread and butter. Metallers want to condemn everyone as blasphemers as soon as they wanna try and do something different for a little while. Im pretty confident theyll release something again.

I dip in and out of metal sometimes, even as a consumer and not a musician you can benefit from the odd break. It goes in cycles. Nothing wrong with exploring different things, but I guess ridiculing the scene regardless of whether you eventually return is pretty silly.

many metalbros, especially the metal-archives types, are a bunch of cockwombles and utter pissbabies. not only do they ABSOLUTELY deserve ridicule in the first place, they also prob overreacted to whatever was posted
